Hello there, well its been awhile...well, on this site its been awhile..if you are down with myspace and facebook or god forbid actual human interaction, chances are you know what I've been up to...but for the sake of staying formal, just thought i'd drop in and say hi...via the "official website!". So here we go, basically its been good and busy, IF YOU WANNAS have been on the warpath this summer with select shows and lotsa great new material...on the solo front, I have just completed a new home recorded album. Titled, "CORTA VENA" it follows in the footsteps of "Baby.." and "Bring me.."...raw but honest and cut straight from the vein. It will be available very soon via CDBABY and itunes...until then you can hear the "single" on MYSPACE site..its called "DO YOU REALLY WANT TO WAKE HER UP?" So go check it out...let me know know what you think. Until then, come on out to a IFs show if you are in the ASHEVILLE area, and I'll let ya know as soon as the next solo or Lindbergh Babies show and news pops up! until next time, adios my loves,
Gav
-Sept 2008
Things are great, how are they with you? cool. Well, "BRING ME THE HORNS OF WILMINGTON'S COW" is now available...download it, buy, burn it from a friend...just give it a listen. It was a fun batch to record and my first batch entirely while here in Asheville, NC.
As far as live music goes, I'm still doing a lot of shows with The IF YOU WANNAS...but tryign to squeeze in the occasional acoustic show here and there, and still keeping the thought of finding some folks to back me up for some full band shows here in NC....we'll see.
Until then. enjoy and hope to see ya on the town.

"Baby Woulda Woken" is now available through CDBABY for 5$!!! which also means it should be up on itunes.com any day now too, so if you've gone totally digital you can find it there! enjoy.

2008
HAPPY NEW YEAR! what better way to kick off the new year than with a new album. "BABY WOULDA WOKEN" is now available right here for 5$ via Kunaki , it will also soon be availabe through cdbaby and itunes. Its a collection of songs i recorded in my new studio/shed here in Asheville. So if you thought "moving on.." was a bit too slick you should love this one, and if you only like really slick albums, you'll probalby wanna wait til i have more money to hit up the fancy studios again. Either way, its here for the taking and is a batch of tunes i can honestly be proud of. So give it a listen and tell me whatcha think.
I hope to be playing more shows throughout the new year, and be sure to still check me out with the IF YOU WANNAS as we have many BIG surprises for everyone in 2008!
happy listening, see ya soon.

Summer/Fall 2007
I have relocated to Asheville, Nc with my gal Kc. And as i'm currently getting my head on straight and feet on the ground, I am totally loving the fact i get to try and return the favor of playing in a band with Ryan Cox. His new outfit is called the THE IF YOU WANNAS. we just recorded a slick new EP that should be out very soon. I played ryan's Moog on the cd, and at the live shows i get to bust out the old SG again and rock that along with the keys. The live shows have been a blast, i highly recommend catching one soon if you can. And playing along side Trevor and Jacob, has also been a real new and exciting experience.
I'm gradually compiling some new songs as well, as i hope to do another home-recorded album soon. So stay in touch! And I hope to see everyone soon, no matter what state you are in, mentally or geographically!
love gav
Spring 2007
After those few cool live shows early in the year, I'm now writing new songs (just finished a new home recording album called "some strange reason" check out the myspace site to see how you can get a free copy. So yeah, just laying low for now but hope to get the ball rolling again soon. Hoping to put out another "collectively slick" album by the end of the year, I'm very gradually assembling new and old songs to take to that battle. Hope to see you all at a show soon...whether I'm the one playing it or not
until then....

MArch 2006
My god, i haven't updated this section in a long tiime
hopefully you guys have noticed all the changes in various other sections though, if not here is the fast and simple run down of all things music related...
- 2 very big shows coming up, one in NYC my first time in the big apple musically, at ROCKWOOD MUSIC HALL,
i Saw mcgowan play there a while back and have been in love with the place ever since. The other show is at the Little Grill in Harrisonburg VA. its part of the grande ol' MACrock festival. i've applied to that damn festival for about 6 yrs now. And this was the first year i didn't bother...and now it turns out we'll be playing it, and along with my dearest musical comrads No Hay Banda and Amy Musser...life moves in mysterious ways kiddies.
- Also have been updating the SONG OF THE MONTH section regularly, i'm enjoying sharing some old tunes from the attic as well as posting new rough recordings. So hope you enjoy checking em out.
-Thanks to everyone that has been coming to the events i've been too lazy to post on here. the Kyber show as a a blast. The Slacks are an amazing bunch of fellas and some of hte best musicians i've ever had the priviledge to play a show with. Also thanks to everyone thats been coming and hanging out at all the house parties we've been throwing and for hanging out with our boy RyanCox down in Asheville for his big show with BOBBY BARE JR. it was a night i will never forget.
"POP"
hope to see everyone soon. check out all the other sites for better scoop and happenings.

September,
hey guys hows it going?
well, its the end of summer, so that naturally means things are gonna get weird and busy. and here it is no exception,
So i just wanted to let you know that somehow, someway,
i'm officially Hosting an OPEN MIC night now here in Stafford County. heres the official details.....
@
Borders Bookstore(540) 720-9636
1240 Stafford Market Pl
Stafford, VA 22556
-EVERY first WED of the month, -
from 7:30pm-9:30pm
so the first one is this wed!! Sept. 7th
so i'll be playing alot of my songs to hopefully enticing some future rock and rolls to come up and play their songs. so if you wanna see some of my weirder songs come on out and say hi, and more importantly if you wanna come sing or talk or do anything creative into a mic , come do that too!!!! ...and if none of that applies, please spread the word to anyone you think this might appeal to !!!
i am finding life is alot funner if i don't say NO to anything! and my personal goal for this mission is to NOT be like all the other creepy and discouraging Hosts i've been sujected to in my own experiences. it takes alot of guts for people to get up and play music and open mics are usually that 'first step' for alot of people....so here is a good chance to make sure some first steps are followed by an honest applause.
and in more self glorifying news...... mark your calendars for :
Sept 24 (sat) (Full band performance)
@ Colonial Tavern
406 lafayette blvd
fredericksburg, Va
http://www.irishbrigadetavern.com/index.html
9:00pm
W/ She Bites Dogs w/ KURT STEMHAGEN
...
a second reminder will be sent out as the date approaches.
hope you are all well, and happy labor day weekend.
XO Gavin
June
Howdy. June is finally here which means more time for more music! It appears ryan cox will be here in Va for a few weeks and we all want to put him to work as much as possible! A cheekyrecords showcase is defintiley in the works for the last week of June as well as a confirmed gig at Galaxy Hut in Arlington (check the LiveShows section for more details).
And on top of that, Ryan cox being the sweetheart he is, surprised me the other day with a GAVIN CONNER TRIBUTE CD that includes many cheekyrecords artist and sounds brilliant, if i don't mind saying so. We'll have some extra copies at the upcoming gigs to get out to the public, they are very limited though so make sure you get one while you can!!!
hope everyone is keeping cool and seeing all there favorite bands live this summer.
mucho luv, gavin

Oct. 27,
- a cover of the Morrissey classic "The More You Ignore Me" has been posted in the audio section. it was recorded during the live WXJM performance in early October.
Oct 12,
wow, what a strange couple of weeks. i am now officially one step closer to dying a happy man. i actually got to play two of my songs on stage with Ben Lee sunday night. He and Lara and members of PonyUp! even backed me up, on "word has it" and "last time i feel in love". i must of had this dream 200 times, but this time it was actually real!!!
goes without saying their performances were as amazing as ever. if they are on the way to your town DONT miss it.
But in other news, the WXJM show was alot of fun, thanks to brent and everyone there for setting that up. I can't wait for another round of Harrisonburg, when we have our first Cheekyrecords showcase at the LittleGrill (nov13). Emanuel Labor will be making their debut, and Ryan Cox will be travelling up from Asheville Nc, and a garenteed nutbusting show by yours truly. (more details in the LIVE SHOWS section).
ALSO, Nov6th, i will be heading to Asheville to record a few new tracks, with Ryan Cox producing, so keep an eye on the AUDIO section.
well, thats all i've got for now. don't forget to think up a good halloween costume. time to go daydream some more about rockin' with my hero, Ben. hope to see ya'll again soon.
cheers, g
